About the Role
Research and evaluation of the planning, development, and implementation of a three-year Ready4Life Community Violence Intervention and Prevention Strategic Action Plan in project target communities in Baton Rouge, LA.
• Assist in the development of the Ready4Life Community Violence Intervention and Prevention Strategic Action Plan that will include timelines, structures, benchmarks, resources needed, and groups/persons responsible for successful implementation.
• Develop research tools and strategies for the data-collection, multi-method, and analysis approach to be used during the Monthly Ready4Life Community Violence Intervention and Prevention Strategy Forums.
• Serve as key liaison for the Ready4Life Project with Baton Rouge Police Department Real Time Crime Center Key Personnel in the development of the RRM Ready4Life On-line Dashboard to receive, monitor, and report data collection specific to Police District #4 and trends in incident types 41, 42, 43, and 45.
• Research to understand the nature, patterns, and root causes of community violence in the project target communities and the larger Baton Rouge Community in general.
. Contractual Services through Services Agreement with rate of pay $650 per day.
Requirements
The Violence Intervention Research Specialist shall assist the Ready4Life CVIPI team (P.E.A.C.E) with conducting a community violence assessment that is strategic, multi-data driven, and performance focused to determine where and why violence is occurring in the target area (s) and assess current gaps and barriers in community services.·
PREFERRED: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university and have received formal training in research and evaluation methods and have applied those skills in the field of criminal justice. Must have advanced quantitative and qualitative skills and significant training in criminology theory. Must be well-versed in relevant crime control and prevention literature and aware of the state-of-practice in criminal justice. Two to three years direct experience as a research partner and/or conducting evaluations similar to theReady4Life Project with community-based non-profit organizations. Must be able to provide twenty (20) hours per month of attention and services to this collaborative program.
